Our School

A Nationally Accredited Magnet School in Southeast Nashville

Wright Global Media & Mass Communications Middle Magnet School is a highly diverse school with 20+ languages and countries represented within the building. We work diligently to support all of our students and their families.

Wright has been awarded the Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) grant to embed an innovative whole-school theme focused on developing 21st century skills and global leaders through project-based learning.

Our school days begin with breakfast followed by Advisory/Morning meeting, a time for students to connect with their teachers and their peers, as they reflect on their own social-emotional well-being. Throughout the day, students experience blended learning in Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science and Related Arts classes. Advanced academics include Encore, a program that supports our gifted students, Integrated Math and Physical Science. In addition, Wright Middle Magnet is proud to introduce AVID to our school community in order to provide a strong foundation of college, career, and life readiness for our students.

Extracurricular activities help keep our students engaged and active. This year, Wright Middle will be dedicating the last Friday of every month for various clubs. Sports are another way students can stay connected after school and expand their personal growth. Our students can choose from six TSSAA sports, including football, cheerleading/dance, basketball, wrestling, track, and soccer. In addition, we will continue to grow our Mariachi program, in addition to our strong band and drama programs.

Wright Middle Magnet has adopted Restorative practices as its Tier 1 behavior intervention model, moving to a restorative rather than a punitive discipline framework, in order to ensure minimal loss of instructional time for the student, as well as providing multiple opportunities for self-reflection and correction.

Wright Middle Magnet is a Community Achieves school and is fortunate to have several wonderful community partners who work directly with the school community. They provide an invaluable support to our faculty and students, and participate in quarterly data dives, working to align their supports to the needs of the school as revealed by current data.

There are great things happening at Wright. Please stop by and check us out!
